A female ruby-throated hummingbird is feeding on a colourful buffet of lantana at the Ottawa Experimental Farm's Ornamental Gardens one hot and sunny September afternoon.
While it might seem odd that this lady has stayed until mid-September, it's on par for now. We'll know if migration has been pushed back or has taken longer if she is not gone by the beginning of October.

Adult males leave first in July, then the adult females follow.
